Flight cancellation and Compensation

I had a flight cancelled on the day of flying and had to sort out alternative flight with them. They were not very helpful and the delay was over 4 hours. i complained and so far they have taken until now to rspond. they offered £260 compensation which I understand is half of the standard amount and still having problems with no response. Anybody got any ideas
