Downloaded an E-sim

Downloaded an E-sim, actual sim card stops working. Need a pin sent to your mobile number to proceed. No mobile service to receive a pin to continue. Their advice ring Telstra help, how do you ring if your mobile no longer has service. Who advises these people??
