Our experience with ANZ:

• Poor customer service

• Excessive telephone banking wait times - over an hour sometimes

• Telephone banking cuts out after waiting on hold somethimes after 30 minutes

• Understaffed and indifferent bankers

• Very few branches and many without tellers so cannot be used for actual banking

• Wait times at branches is often more than 20 minutes

• Under-trained staff who mainly work from home and transfer you from department to department

• ANZ online banking interface and usability is poorly laid out and difficult to use

• Any change to variable interest rate loans are not advised via email or post

• Very low interest payments on savings and term deposits

• Excessively difficult to obtain a home or business loan because of ANZ’s onerous requirements

Recommendation: Do not use ANZ for banking in Australia. You will be overcharged and treated very poorly
